Wake Up from the BS You Tell Yourself

Many books start with, “Listen to me, and your life will change.” It’s BS.
Listen to yourself because your words are programming your brain. “Life sucks, and then you die.” Have you ever heard yourself say this?
There are two ways to discover that you have the power to create in your life. At least two that work in my experience.

  1. Listen to how you describe your life when you talk to others and what you say to yourself all day.
  2. Listen to how others describe their lives.

Does your life seem to be a mess?
Are you envious of what others achieve?

These are symptoms of how you have programmed your life.

Would you like to work at what you love, have fun, and make money?

Do you dream of things, and then a little voice in your head says, “Who you, not you, you imposter?” “Everything you touch turns to mess.”
All of us are flawed human beings. Why? You can look at the answer two ways.

  1. It’s the misery of life, and I tell everyone about it.
  2. It’s here for me to overcome, and I observe how it serves me.

You choose. That’s our power. We are always choosing. We can stay stuck and love the story, make sure to tell others or embrace life as a friend who always gives us the feedback we need to grow. The first is powerless, and the second is powerful.
When you accept that you have created the mess you’re living in, you can begin to create the life you desire consciously.
Thich Nhat Hanh once said, “People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of a fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.
George Ivanovich Gurdjieff said, “Live a life of friction. Let yourself be disturbed as much as possible, but observe.”
Don’t take my word for it; prove this idea to yourself. Begin observing who and what disturbs you. Let go of your suffering and stop the BS stories.

I have no proof, but I suspect they all possessed a knowing from God or the Universe itself. The “knowing” of these sages can guide us if only we can overcome our hubris, the part of our mind that thinks, “we know it all.” Or perhaps by reading about their life experiences and considering their advice, we can avoid some of the pitfalls that life presented to them. Who will question your answers? – Only the “Woke?”It’s great to have people around you, no matter what you do in life, that will tell you when you are full of #2. The “Woke” best friends, teachers, coaches, spouses, employees, leaders, parents, etc., tell us when we are full of #2. Direct feedback from others is not the only way to know if you are full of #2. Life itself is feedback; unless you are stuck in victim thinking, that is. If you accept responsibility for what you are creating in life, then all of life is a gift—the gift of feedback. People and events that upset you are reflecting where you are full of #2. If you are among the “woke,” then you think this doesn’t apply to you. After all, you know better. If you disagree, you need a coach to show you where you are, full of #2. Unless you are Woke, then you are coaching the rest of us.I am doing my Woke best not to offend anyone and to agree with everyone. I am using the term #2 instead of the dirty word.
