Steve Lentini was born in Middletown to Italian immigrant parents and grew up the youngest of seven children although officially his identical twin, Stan, was 4 minutes younger.

He delivered morning and evening newspapers at age 10 and, worked on a local farm as soon as he was 13 and it was legal. Later he worked at a supermarket, a junkyard, unloaded freight cars, and a golf course to put himself through the catholic high school. He went to work for a bank after high school, attended college, and joined his brother Frank’s company in 1975 as a salesperson.
